Connect to your database

Use database connection information to connect to databases using DataStax Studio, CQLSH, or by using a sample application.

There are several ways to connect to your your databasedatabase - A group of distributed instances for storing data. Each paid Astra database has at least three instances.. You can interact directly from the DataStax Cloud console with the CQL Console, which is an integrated Cassandra Query Language SHell (CQLSH) that is connected to your database.

Alternatively, you can use the Astra REST API, Astra GraphQL API, or download the secure connect bundle to connect with DataStax drivers.

📘

Note

You must create an Astra database or be granted access to a database by another user before establishing connections.
